John Bunyan (1628-1688) was a Puritan English author, best known for his discourse in morality read to the very young for centuries, titled The Pilgrim's Progress. Boasting in its 1909 edition, "The book which, next to the Bible, has been read by more people, old and young, than any other book in the English language."
