Lady Windermere's Fan, a Play About a Good Woman is a four-act comedy first performed in London in 1892. A husband throws a birthday ball for his wife's twenty first birthday, in which she can show off her fan to the likes of Lord Darlington, whose admiration is far too effusive for his own good.
