Harold Titus was born in Traverse City, MI, in 1888. A 1911 graduate of the University of Michigan, he worked as a reporter for the Detroit News before becoming conservation editor of Field & Stream and forestry editor for Outdoor America. Prevailing story themes: the allure of spring and romance of country life, usually set in Michigan. He knew a thing or two about fly fishing to "hook" his readers. Particular favorite short story of the editor's is A Fish Story about Love.
