Originally publised under the title A Lady in 1811, Sense and Sensibility was Jane Austen's first published work. Remarkably, she wrote the first draft in 1795 when she was only 19 years old. The original version was drafted as a novel-in-letters and entitled Elinor and Marianne.
A romantic fiction, Sense and Sensibility is set in southwest England in the 1790s and follows Elinor and Marianne Dashwood as they experience love, romance and heartbreak.
