Lewis Carroll was the pen name of the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (Jan 27, 1832 - Jan 14, 1898). In addition to his role as an author, Carroll was a mathematician, logician, photographer and Anglican clergyman. Writing in the genre referred to as 'literary nonsense,' his most celebrated works are Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.
